CHICAGO, ILLINOIS — A 59-year-old concealed carrier in Chicago was robbed Wednesday night, and is lucky to be alive after his encounter with two armed suspects in their teens.
The man was walking down the street around 9:45 pm when two suspects approached him and announced a robbery. At the time, they didn’t know that their target had a firearm with him.
The first male pointed a loaded weapon at the man while the second male told the 59-year-old to hand over his belongings. The second attacker then took the victim’s phone, said Kellie Bartoli, a police spokeswoman. Because no one has been arrested, police would not say what kind of phone it was.

The first suspect then shot the man in the thigh, but it isn’t clear if this was because the armed citizen had started to draw his firearm. Police have not released those details as of yet.
If it was, the suspects were looking to get out of there alive by shooting first.
If it wasn’t, then they fired on their victim… just because they could.
As they ran, the armed citizen fired at least one shot in their direction, but did not hit either of the suspects.
Police have no description of the suspects, other than they appeared to be in the range of 16-20 years old.
