Man Attempting To Stab Another Man Is Shot By That Man, Because Concealed Carry

BRIDGEPORT, CONNECTICUT — A man is dead after police say he attempted to stab someone, but that intended target was carrying a firearm and refused to be a victim.

The incident was caught on surveillance video, and shows the man attempting to stab someone. The target is then seen drawing a firearm and shooting, police say.

When police arrived, they said they found a man, later identified as 41-year-old Jose Perez-Ortiz, of Monroe, suffering from a gunshot wound.

Authorities said Perez-Ortiz was taken to Bridgeport Hospital, where he later died.

Police have not released the identity of the intended victim.

These incidents can happen in seconds, and that’s all it takes for someone to call lights out on another person. It’s for this reason that many of us carry and train, so that we can be prepared for the dangers that our society has.
