Motorist Fired Upon After Traffic Accident Involving Pedestrians

BRADENTON, FLORIDA — A motorist was fired upon after he struck a woman and her three children at an intersection in Bradenton on Thursday, October 27th.

The incident occurred at the intersection of Third Street West and 57th Avenue West at around 9:21 PM. Florida Highway Patrol spokesman Kenneth Watson stated that a man driving a truck made at right turn at the intersection and struck a woman and her three kids, two of which were in a stroller. Watson stated that just after the accident, an unidentified man began firing at the driver of the truck. The unidentified man then fled the scene.

The driver was treated for minor injuries from flying glass from his windshield during the shooting. The driver was not struck by gunfire. Officials believe the man who fired upon the driver may have also been struck in the traffic accident.

The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the shooting. Florida Highway Patrol are conducting an investigation of the original traffic accident.
