Call the MythBusters, because they need to change their findings regarding falling bullets. While this young woman was not killed by the bullet, I don’t see why it couldn’t happen. A story referenced in the video above shows just how dangerous a falling bullet can be.
20-year-old Kaitlyn Jacobs was at Busch Gardens with her father when she felt something hit her leg. They went to the hospital where an x-ray showed a bullet that had been lodged in her leg, thought to have come from celebratory gunfire that didn’t even occur in the immediate area. In other words, someone fired a shot into the air and the bullet found it’s way into Jacobs’ leg.
What goes up, must come down. It’s one of the most irresponsible things that a person can do with a firearm.
