CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA — Police were called after an incident unfolded on a Friday afternoon when a 17-year-old Jack in the Box employee was fatally shot around 2:30 p.m. inside the restaurant located at North Hoskins Road and Brookshire Boulevard. The crime scene was quickly cordoned off by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD), who later identified the victim as Fate Brannon, a young worker targeted by assailants after his shift.
The investigation led to the arrest of 28-year-old Marcus Dahn on Saturday, initially detained on an unrelated charge but subsequently linked to Brannon’s murder after police interviews. Dahn faces multiple charges, including first-degree murder and robbery with a dangerous weapon, with a court appearance set for April 19.
CMPD urges anyone with information to contact Charlotte Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600 or directly speak with homicide detectives at 704-432-TIPS, assuring anonymity and the possibility of a reward for tips leading to an arrest.
