A man was shot and killed in an altercation on Comstock Drive in Northwest Reno, which police have deemed an act of self-defense. The investigation is ongoing.
RENO, NV (1-minute read) — A man was fatally shot Wednesday in what authorities have ruled as a self-defense case. Local police responded to a call at 2:48 p.m. on the 3400 block of Comstock Drive, where an altercation between two men had escalated, resulting in a gunshot.
Upon arrival, officers found the man who had been shot, and he was promptly transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. The shooter remained at the scene and fully cooperated with law enforcement, according to the police report.
The robbery/homicide unit conducted a thorough investigation and concluded that the shooting was justified as an act of self-defense. The name of the deceased is being withheld until his next of kin are notified.
