Amazon Driver Fatally Shoots Armed Carjacking Suspect

CLEVELAND, OH (2-minute read) – Authorities in Cleveland are investigating a fatal shooting involving an Amazon delivery driver who reportedly defended himself against an armed carjacker on Saturday evening.

According to local news outlet WOIO, the incident occurred near West 48th Street and Franklin Boulevard. Cleveland Police reported that the Amazon driver was making deliveries just after 4 p.m. when he was confronted by an individual wielding a firearm. The assailant allegedly held the driver at gunpoint in an attempt to hijack the vehicle.

During the attempted carjacking, the situation escalated when the armed assailant crashed the vehicle. In response, the Amazon driver used a firearm to shoot the carjacker, who was later pronounced dead at the scene.
