Concealed Carry License Holder Fires Back in Early Morning Drive-By on Chicago’s Near West Side

CHICAGO, In an early morning incident on Chicago’s Near West Side, a man with a concealed carry permit exchanged gunfire after being targeted in a drive-by shooting.

The incident occurred around 2:42 a.m. Monday, when a 35-year-old man, accompanied by a woman, was attacked while sitting on the curb. An assailant in a dark-colored sedan opened fire on them in the 500 block of South Jefferson Street, as reported by the police. In response, the man, a licensed holder of a concealed carry permit, defended by firing back.

Fortunately, there were no injuries from the exchange of gunfire.

The case is currently under investigation by Area Three detectives. No additional details have been released regarding the shooting.
