Man Fatally Shot After Breaking Into House, Fighting With Occupants

BESSEMER, ALABAMA — In the early hours of Friday morning, a 33-year-old man was fatally shot during a reported home invasion in McCalla, located in the 6600 block of Newbridge Drive. The incident, occurring around 4:30 a.m., involved the man breaking into a residence and getting into a physical fight with the people inside.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reported that shots were fired during this altercation, resulting in the intruder’s death. It was also noted that the individuals involved were acquainted with each other.

Currently, the Jefferson County Criminal Division detectives are investigating the details of the shooting.
