Dog Shot After Attacking Father And His Child

SARASOTA, FLORIDA — The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an incident where a dog was shot after attacking a father and son on their property on Dodge Ave. The dog was loose and attacked, which prompted the father to shoot it in self-defense.

No charges will be pressed against the father, while the dog’s owner received a $66 citation.

The injured dog was taken to an emergency vet and is expected to survive but requires surgery. This incident has raised concerns among residents about safety and the importance of responsible pet ownership.
