Persons Of Interest Sought In Ybor Shooting That Left 2 Dead And 16 Injured

TAMPA, FLORIDA — The Tampa Police Department is seeking the public’s help in identifying multiple suspects following the Ybor City shooting on October 29, which resulted in the deaths of a 14-year-old boy and a 20-year-old man, and left 16 others injured.

With two victims still in the hospital as of November 6, authorities have made one arrest, Tyrell Stephen Phillips, charged with the murder of the adolescent, after he claimed to have fired his weapon in self-defense during a confrontation.

Police Chief Lee Bercaw encourages anyone with information, no matter how minor it may seem, to come forward to help provide closure for the affected families. Tips can be reported to the FBI at fbi.gov/tampashooting or anonymously through Crime Stoppers of Tampa Bay at 800-873-TIPS for a potential $5,000 reward.
