Man Arrested After Reportedly Randomly Firing 2 Handguns As He Walked Down Street

TERRE HAUTE, INDIANA — In Terre Haute, a disturbance involving gunshots led to the tasing and arrest of a man. On Sunday afternoon, authorities responded to North 13th 1/2 Street after receiving reports of a man, now identified as 36-year-old Thai A. Leonard, wandering the area and discharging two handguns.

Upon reaching the scene, the police discovered Leonard had retreated to his residence. As officers surrounded the home, Leonard emerged but defied police instructions. As a result, they deployed a taser to subdue him.

A subsequent search revealed multiple firearms on him. Leonard now faces charges for Criminal Recklessness with a Deadly Weapon and Intimidation with a Deadly Weapon.
