Man Shoots And Kills Attacker He Says Pointed Gun At Him At Gas Station

NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE — Metro police are looking into a self-defense claim after a fatal shooting took place at a gas station in the Bordeaux area on Sunday night. The incident happened around 11 p.m. at a gas station on Clarksville Pike. Ricky Starks Jr., aged 42, was shot and killed following an alleged altercation at the store.

According to the police, Starks was outside the Citgo gas station when the incident unfolded. Ricky Johnson Jr., the man who reportedly shot Starks, stated that as he was leaving the Citgo, Starks approached him, aimed a gun at his head, hit him with the gun, and demanded money. Johnson, 34, said that Starks pursued him as he fled into the store, at which point Johnson fired his weapon and shot Starks multiple times.

Authorities have confirmed that video footage from the scene supports Johnson’s version of events. The district attorney’s office will continue to investigate the self-defense claim. No additional information was released at this time.
