Noise Complaint Escalates Into Shots Fired, Woman Shot In Chest

Published

SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS — Police are currently examining a case where a woman was severely injured by a gunshot to her chest in an apartment complex on the Northeast Side in the early hours of Wednesday.

The authorities were alerted about a wounded individual close to 2 a.m. at the Arcadian Apartments, situated in the 4600 section of East Loop 1604 North, near the junction of Interstate 10 and Binz-Engleman Road.

The police report revealed that a woman, aged 31, had initially ascended to an upper floor to raise concerns about a neighbor creating a disturbance. It is reported that an altercation broke out between her and a male visitor to the apartment, after she knocked on the door.

The dispute escalated and continued in the parking area, where the woman was eventually wounded by a bullet in the chest.

Emergency services transported the victim to Brooke Army Medical Center, where she was deemed critical. However, following medical attention and surgery, her condition was stabilized, and her injuries are no longer viewed as life-threatening.

The police added that the alleged perpetrator and the apartment’s resident fled the scene after the shooting incident, and they have yet to be located.

Multiple agencies, including the San Antonio Police Department, the San Antonio Fire Department, and EMS, were summoned and responded to the incident.

The investigation is still ongoing.
