ORANGE COUNTY, FLORIDA — Newly released bodycam footage shows the Orange County Sheriff’s Office deputies arresting Keith Melvin Moses at gunpoint, after he allegedly went on a shooting spree in a neighborhood near Orlando, which left three people dead including a TV reporter and a 9-year-old girl.
In the footage, Moses is seen walking down a street as two officers — one armed with a rifle and the other with a handgun — yell at him to get on the ground. As Moses is placed in handcuffs, he repeatedly yells, “They’re killing me!” and “Let me go!” and “I can’t breathe!”
Sheriff John Mina described the shootings as random acts of violence, and stated that Moses has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder in the initial shooting that killed Nathacha Augustin, 38, according to NBC 6. Mina added that “numerous more charges” would follow. Spectrum News 13 identified the slain reporter as Dylan Lyons, who was shot along with photographer Jesse Walden while covering the first homicide.
The two were reportedly in an unmarked news vehicle when a man approached and shot them. The man then went to a nearby home where he fatally shot T’yonna Major and critically wounded the girl’s mother.
Mina said investigators do not know the motive for any of the shootings, but Moses is a known gang member. However, the shootings didn’t appear to be gang-related, and it was not clear if Moses knew that two of the victims were journalists.
