Phoenix Store Clerk Shoots Man During Altercation, Claims Self-Defense

PHOENIX, ARIZONA — An altercation between a Circle K store clerk and another man led to a claimed self-defense shooting. The incident occurred at around 2 am Thursday, November 10th at the Circle K, located at 35th Avenue and Greenway.

Phoenix police responded to a call of a shooting at the location per Sgt Melissa Soliz with Phoenix PD. When officers arrived, they discovered a man shot and the store clerk. The two had been in an altercation and during that altercation, the clerk shot the man. The clerk stated he shot him in self-defense.

The unidentified man was transported to a local hospital and was last reported in serious condition. The clerk was interviewed at the scene by police.
