WINNEMUCCA, NEVADA — The Winnemucca (Nevada) Police Department responded to a report of shots fired at the Maverik First-Stop Gas Station at 605 W Haskell at 12:26 AM on Sunday, August 21, 2022. Upon their arrival, officers found a 16-year-old male shot. Officers immediately began life-saving measures on the 16-year-old.

A 19-year-old male on the scene at Haskell and Hanson admitted to shooting the 16-year-old, claiming he fired in self-defense.
