Police say Brevard shot his victims as they slept on the street, with at least one being stabbed as well. The attacks were labeled as cold-blooded and vicious, and police worked quickly to bring the suspect into custody before he could commit anymore attacks.
The suspect was located at a gas station and quickly taken into custody. Police noted that he had no weapons on him at the time, and his appearance and clothing matched photos and videos collected as evidence during their search.
Surveillance video of the takedown was shared with the public on Tuesday, showing the quick response by police and how easily the suspect gave up after understanding he wasn’t going to get away.
