1 Shot, 1 Injured In Grocery Store Shooting, Police Looking For Suspect

RICHLAND, WASHINGTON — One person is dead and another injured after police say a suspect fired a handgun inside the Richland Fred Meyer store. The suspect was identified as a white male, pictured above.

The incident happened around 11 a.m. local time.

Photos circulated by police show the alleged suspect wearing a plaid shirt with a dark-colored down vest, a black gaiter or scarf pulled over his nose, light-colored pants and athletic shoes.

If you recognize the suspect in the photos or have any information, call local police immediately at 509-628-0333.

One witness said that at least 10 shots were fired inside the store. Police are not certain how the suspect fled, whether by foot or in a vehicle.

Customers and employees were said to be hiding in restrooms and back rooms. A large gathering of shoppers and employees was seen in the parking lot where they were directed to stay.
