No Winners In Motel Melee And Shooting

Published

DETROIT, MICHIGAN – A chaotic early morning encounter at a motel left three men in critical condition after a fight, vehicular assault, and shooting. According to police, a 27-year-old woman was involved in an argument with her boyfriend around 1 a.m. at a motel on Grand River Avenue near West Seven Mile Road.

She called her brothers to come over, presumably for moral support. When the brothers, ages 21 and 24, rolled up, the boyfriend exited the motel and opened fire on them. The brothers, in a Dodge Ram pickup truck, used it to pin the man against the exterior wall of the motel. They then assaulted him, and when they backed the truck up, he began shooting again.  Both brothers were struck by gunfire.

The brothers then managed to gain control of the boyfriend’s gun and used it to shoot him. An unidentified third-party who was transporting the brothers to a hospital then crashed their vehicle into a Southfield police cruiser.

Police also say that when someone was transporting the brothers to the hospital, they crashed their vehicle into a Southfield police cruiser. There were no additional reported injuries, but all three men from the motel incident were critically injured.
