CHESTER COUNTY, SOUTH CAROLINA — A woman’s body discovered along a roadside was later identified as a person who was reported missing. The sad part of it all is that she was murdered while trying to help a couple…a couple that the Sheriff says was high on meth.
The tragic story unfolded Monday morning. The body of a deceased female was discovered around 11:45 a.m. Monday along Carpenter Road off Highway 72.. Chester County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the scene.
About three hours later, police with the city of Chester were called to Walmart regarding a missing person. They were told that Linda Robinson, from Fairfield County, had went missing just before noon and was last seen inside the Walmart.
The two law enforcement agencies compared notes and quickly determined that the deceased woman and the missing woman were one in the same. Mrs. Robinson’s 2009 Honda Odyssey was found abandoned off James F. Wherry Road around 8 p.m.
Investigators believe that Robinson, who was well known in her community for helping others, stopped to help a couple with a disabled vehicle on the side of a road in neighboring Fairfield County. The three traveled to the Chester Walmart where Robinson picked up a prescription refill while the couple waited in her van.
Upon leaving the store, the pair asked the Good Samaritan to drive to a road in northern Chester County. There they allegedly beat her to death inside the van, dumped her body on the roadside, and fled the scene in the vehicle.
According to the Sheriff, Faile has been in and out of jail six times and Harris has been behind bars thirty-six times. Both were out of jail on bond at the time of the murder, having been arrested only weeks ago on drug charges.
“It’s my understanding that she’s done this so much, she has helped out so many people – and she just ended up picking up the wrong two,” Dorsey said.
