Louisiana is one of many states where alleged suspects can be charged with murder if they are participating in a felonious crime where a person dies, whether it is a victim or another suspect. The Sheriff said that his office is waiting until the coroner makes a positive identification on the deceased person and their family is notified before releasing the identity of the alleged suspect.

Jennifer Bond of Ethel was also booked into the same prison on one count of accessory after the fact. The investigation is ongoing.
