Fight Prompts Man To Fire Shots Inside Hookah Lounge, Is Shot And Killed By Armed Security

TAMPA, FLORIDA — A man is dead after police say he fired a gun inside a Hookah lounge following a fight, leading armed security to shoot the man.

It happened around 6 a.m. Saturday at the Flow Hookah Lounge, located at 2312 W. Waters Ave., according to a Tampa Police Department news release. At some point overnight, the man got into an argument inside the lounge and was escorted out by security.

The man retrieved a gun and fired it. Armed security fired back and struck the man, who was taken to the hospital where he later died.

The man’s identity was not made public.

My general rule is to not visit places that have hired armed security, as it likely means that they’ve had trouble in the past and/or reside in an unsafe location. But that’s just my rule.
