Armed Chick-Fil-A Customer Stops Armed Robber In His Tracks

Published

ATLANTA, GEORGIA — An armed customer took action during a robbery at the location, firing two shots as the robber tried to flee.

Police received a call after 3 p.m. Tuesday about a man who entered the restaurant inside Colony Square with a gun and demanded cash.

Atlanta police originally said the man fired three shots inside the restaurant, according to witness reports.

Later, it was found that the armed citizen was the one who fired the shots. The robber was not hit, but was held at gunpoint until police arrived.

As the man ran from the restaurant, Sgt. John Chafee said several people nearby saw what was going on and attempted to stop him.

One of them fired two shots and held the robbery suspect at gunpoint until officers arrived.

It is unclear where the armed citizen fired his gun. A fleeing suspect is a difficult thing, but if he was still deemed a threat being armed, justified use of deadly force would likely be warranted.

Luckily, no one was injured during the incident, and the bad guy ended up behind bars on numerous charges.
