HOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA — A 17-year-old girl is dead after two people got into an argument during a street car race in Hollywood, California shortly after midnight on Sunday.

One of those people pulled out a gun, and a bystander tackled him. Failing to gain control over the gun, the suspect fired at least two shots, striking the 17-year-old and another person. The 17-year-old died instantly.

The video below was captured on a bystander’s cell phone. It contains graphic content, so please proceed with caution.

A 17-year-old girl from Huntington Park, who was identified by family as Alejandra “Ale” Estrada, was struck by gunfire and later pronounced dead at the scene. She was described as an innocent bystander who was watching the race.

A second victim showed up at a hospital for treatment, and their injuries were non-life-threatening.

Thanks to video from the incident, police were able to locate the suspect rather quickly. Ramon Roque Monreal, 33, of El Paso, Texas, was arrested and charged with murder. He is currently being held on $3 million bail.

This is one of those incidents that should have never happened, but thugs will always be thugs. That’s why it’s up to us to decide what we do, when we do it, and who we hang out with. A street race in the middle of the night isn’t the best place to be, and unfortunately for this young girl, her life ended at the hands of an adult child who knows nothing in life except for violence.

I can only wonder if this thug is affected by what his actions have caused. In any event, he should at the very least spend his remaining days locked up in a cage. Because after all, he is of absolutely no use to society.

A GoFundMe page has been set up for the teen’s family.
