LA County Gun Shops Reopen After Backlash Against Sheriff Who Ordered Them Closed

Published

Yesterday, we reported on the LA County Sheriff and his power and decision to close all gun shops after deeming them non-essential. It didn’t take long for many to call him out and voice their frustration with his decision.

Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva, after hearing a legal opinion from the county attorney, the Sheriff decided to back down. If gun shops do close, it’s because of a decision made by the Governor.

Sheriff Villanueva seemed quick to order the gun shops to close yesterday, and his reasoning is right in line with a person who doesn’t want law-abiding citizens to have firearms.

“You can’t shoot a virus,” Villanueva told NBC News. “But if we ever get to the point of a foreign invasion or zombie apocalypse, I’ll make sure they are open.”

Reasons people may want a gun that Villanueva doesn’t seem to care about: Armed robbery, rape, home invasion, domestic violence, murderers, etc etc etc.

There is no end to people in power wanting to restrict 2A rights, but in this case, we can see the power of speaking up and not backing down.
