Teen Thug Tries to Boost Car From Startled Grandma, Cue Angry Grandson

CLEVELAND, OH — A teenage punk attempted to carjack an older woman in her own driveway, Cleveland.com reports. He didn’t know her grandson was visiting, and he was packing heat.

The young thug was carrying a gun, but he didn’t want anything approaching a fair fight — he just wanted a car. The grandson drove the teen off without a shot fired, absolutely nailing the form required for family defense.

Take a look at the report from Cleveland.com:

An unidentified teen tried to take a 79-year-old woman’s car at gunpoint Tuesday in Cleveland’s Broadway-Slavic Village neighborhood, police said. The woman was not harmed in the attempted carjacking that happened just before 3 p.m. on East 71st Street near Harvard Avenue, according to a police report.

No arrests have been made in the case, the report says. The woman had just arrived home in her brown 2000 Chevrolet Malibu when the teen, who appeared to be roughly 17 years old, approached her car and opened a door.

The teen pointed a gun at the woman and said “get out, I’m taking your car,” the report says. The woman’s grandson was in her house and saw the attempted carjacking through a window. The grandson grabbed his own gun, ran outside and told the teen to leave his grandmother alone, the report says.

The teen ran away toward Harvard Avenue. Several other males followed him, the grandson told police.

Hey, I won’t object to the use of an Equalizer, once removed.

Unless those males in pursuit are just aching for justice against an armed kid, I’d be willing to bet this pack of kids were looking for a joyride at the expense of an elderly woman — not cool.

Respect your elders. Even if they aren’t packing heat — but they often are — they’ve often got family that is happy to go to bat for them.
