Woman Shoots And Kills Man After Being Hit

CHICAGO, IL — A man was shot dead after beating a woman in the early hours of the morning August 6.

The woman he attacked was armed, and more than willing to defend herself.

As DNA Info reports:

At 5:18 a.m., the two were in the 6900 block of West 65th Street when the man, 33, hit the woman, 30, police said. The woman took out out a gun and shot the man, hitting him three times. The man was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. He was identified as Damien Hernandez, of the 5900 block of West 65th Street, in Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Hernandez was pronounced dead at 5:41 a.m. and an autopsy showed he died from multiple gunshot wounds in a homicide. The woman was taken into custody after the shooting, police said, but she was released without being charged.

Because of the relative vagueness of the report, there really isn’t a good way to tell just how bad the attack on the woman was, but if she was released by law enforcement, we have to assume it was pretty rough.

We couldn’t be happier that she had the means to defend herself, even if we’re not happy that a tragic event occurred.

The most special part about this, in my humble opinion, is the city in which it occurred: Chicago, Illinois. The city infamous for its draconian gun control cannot stomp out citizens’ God-given right to keep and bear arms.

Not anyone else-given, mind you. God-given.

We are given the right to defend our lives, liberty, and property not by any man on this earth — which means that no man on this earth can take it away.

The great equalizer that is firearms is one of the best things about this country — let’s do everything we can to preserve our rights.
