[HOLSTER REVIEW] StealthgearUSA SG-REVOLUTION IWB Holster

When it comes to holsters for concealed carry, I’m super picky. I mean really picky. I require comfort, great concealment, and a great price point. When I opened the package and looked inside at the newest offering from StealthgearUSA, my immediate thought was that this new IWB holster is going to hit all points.

It does, and it continues to be one of my new favorites.

Let’s start with some specs on this new line:

Three holster options: IWB Standard (inside the waistband), IWB-Mini (narrow inside the waistband), AIWB (appendix carry inside the waistband)

Lightweight: IWB Standard = 4.3 oz

Platform materials: Tough, flexible single layer proprietary polymer platform (ACX-57), diamond laser cut to exact dimensions

Platform color: Black

Battle-worn finish on Kydex shell

Magazine carrier options: single or double

Ships within 72 hours

MSRP: $59

To say that this holster is comfortable is an understatement. Whatever they’re doing with the backing, they’re doing it right. Without the need for the holster to form to your body over time, it fits like a glove the first time you put it on. We’re seeing this more and more with holster companies, and it’s a great direction to take the industry.

If you know StealthgearUSA, you’ll see that they’re using the same type of kydex shell system as seen in previous models. It’s low-bulk design negates any excess kydex. They only give you what you need to properly store the firearm, and it’s perfect. The layout and design looks pretty sharp, too.

Beefy, strong clips will keep this riding the way it should, and you shouldn’t have them break under any normal conditions. They are secured to the backing with a screw, and of course has the rubber insert in between.

As you already know, the shell is adjustable for retention of your firearm via the five screws that keep it in place. Loosening or tightening the screws will give your firearm less or more retention, letting you customize the perfect draw feel.

On the back, we have three screw positions that allow the adjustment of both ride height and cant. The clips themselves also have two holes to allow for even more precise adjustment.

The diamond pattern that let’s the holster ‘breathe’ is pretty neat, and gives the holster a look that we haven’t seen anywhere else. This backing, made of a proprietary polymer, seems like it’ll hold up to just about anything. I have no doubt that this will last for the long-term.

Taking a look at the entire back, we see the whole pattern of diamonds, as well as a stamped SG logo directly in the center. If you look to the right side of the holster, you’ll also see ‘G26’ stamped into the side. This stands for ‘Glock 26’, and gives you an indicator as to what firearm this holster belongs to. I can’t tell you how many holsters I have, but I can tell you that it gets confusing after a while… trying to figure out which holster is for which firearm. This is a big plus for me but again, I’m a holster hog.

score-45-5

Priced at $59, this new IWB holster offering from StealthgearUSA is a steal for what you’re getting. It’s up there in my top 3 favorite holsters, and I’ve only had it for a few weeks.

Oh, and did I mention that the turnaround time is 72-hours from when you place your order?
