Naked Burglar Chased Out Of Bed By Armed Homeowner: Yes, You Read That Correctly

Published

PORTLAND, OREGON — Sometimes, you just never know what to expect and should always be prepared for the absolute most crazy thing to happen. Even while you sleep.

A man asleep at his home awoke to a bizarre encounter with an intruder, and that intruder had a knife.

The home’s resident woke to find the stranger holding a knife and sitting on top of him. Police said the man pushed off the intruder and grabbed a handgun, telling the man to stop.

The intruder pulled on his pants, running out of the home as the man chased him with the gun. The resident fired three shots near the suspect, but no one was harmed.

The intruder, 32-year-old Richard Dean Defeudis, eventually made his way into another home, this one vacant. It was at this location that he was arrested by police. Defeudis was taken to the hospital for treatment and then booked on charges of first-degree burglary, second-degree burglary, first-degree sex abuse, and unlawful use of a weapon. Drugs are suspected to have played a role in his bizarre behavior.

The homeowner is not expected to face any charges and was not injured during the encounter.

So the question is: Where does your firearm reside while you sleep? Don’t tell us, but make sure you have a plan… keep it a secret in case the bad guy is reading.
