CLEVELAND, OHIO — A jealous former lover showed up at the doorstep of his ex-girlfriend’s apartment in Cleveland, Ohio. At first, he knocked on the door and when the 24-year-old woman didn’t respond, he broke it down. Realizing there was another man in the house and the woman had quite well moved on, he thought the only responsible thing to do was strangle her to the point of unconsciousness. A 28-year-old man, likely bewildered at the spectacle, came out to stop the assailant. That did no good. The assailant reportedly charged the man and struck him repeatedly in the hallway before the man produced his pistol and shot him at close range in the chest.
According to the reports revealed through Fox 8 Cleveland, the unnamed assailant fled and collapsed in the stairwell. By the time authorities arrived, he was dead. Both the woman and the man are being cooperative with police and no charges have been filed.
