Man Hunts Down Ex-Girlfriend’s New Boyfriend, Shoots Him After Breaking Into Residence

NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE — Metro Police are actively searching for 30-year-old Damarquis Morehead, suspected of shooting his ex-girlfriend’s new boyfriend on Jefferson Street, resulting in the victim, a 32-year-old man, being injured. The incident, which occurred during a home invasion at 8:45 a.m., involved Morehead allegedly entering his ex-girlfriend’s residence and shooting her new boyfriend in the hip. The ex-girlfriend and the victim reportedly returned fire, but Morehead managed to escape unharmed.

The injured man was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for treatment, while the ex-girlfriend remained unscathed.

Morehead is currently wanted on three outstanding warrants related to last week’s incidents with his ex-girlfriend. Following this latest offense, he faces three additional charges, including two counts of aggravated assault and one count of especially aggravated burglary.

It would seem that the couple’s use of force against Morehead is what saved them, as he likely would have continued what he was doing if bullets weren’t also flying in his direction.

Metro Police are urging anyone with information regarding Morehead’s whereabouts to contact Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463.
