PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA — A woman working at a store came face-to-face with two armed robbers after they entered through the back door around 4 a.m. on Tuesday. Police say the woman was behind the counter with her manager when the two men entered.
A struggle began and that’s when the woman was shot multiple times in the thigh, but was able to pull out her own gun and fire back, striking one of the suspects multiple times.
The robbers fled, and the wounded robber wound up at a local hospital for treatment of his injuries. His condition is not known.
The woman who was shot in the thigh, up to 3 times, is in critical condition. Don’t forget that a major artery runs down each leg, and can have terrible consequences if severed. I don’t know if that’s what happened to this woman, but it’s the best guess that I have.
I hope that she is able to make a full recovery, and that both suspects are brought to justice for their crimes.
The biggest lesson from this one; keep those rear entrances locked. It takes just a second for the bad guys to get in and if they’re coming in through a door that you wouldn’t normally expect someone to come through, you’re going to be caught off guard even more so if they were to come in through the normal entrance.
