Couple In FL Take Out Armed Home Intruder Together; Now That’s Teamwork

A couple is Florida is lucky to be alive after an armed home invasion this Wednesday morning. While the husband was still in bed and the wife was getting ready for the day, 21-year-old Marquise Trevel Yates kicked in the deadbolt-locked door at 6:30am armed with a gun and started to charge the wife.

“If we had not had a gun in our home, we would be dead,” Pam Coker said from the hospital Friday. “I’m convinced of that. That guy was strong and he was not going to stop. Nothing was going to stop him.”

A fight ensued and while the husband got out of bed to help his wife, she was able to get away and grab her firearm. At some point, the husband was also able to retrieve his own firearm and wound up exchanging lead with Yates.

Both husband and wife fired their own firearms at Yates, who was pronounced dead at the scene. The homeowners were injured during the incident but are expected to be alright.
