Stupid Gun Owners Make Us All Look Bad: Carry-on Luggage Edition

Published

This actually happens more often than you’d think. At TSA checkpoints across our nation’s airports, their scanners pick up handguns in the carry-on luggage of legal gun owners. But how can a legal gun owner be so… stupid?

At Midway International Airport in Chicago, 35-year-old Kevin Champion was arrested and charged with a misdemeanor for concealed carry in an airport after a TSA agent at the security checkpoint found a loaded 9mm handgun in his carry-on luggage.

There is, for certain, no reasonable answer. Even pre-9/11 days, a person would be nuts to attempt bringing a firearm in their carry-on luggage. While it is usually legal to declare a firearm and travel with it in your checked luggage, under no circumstances can it be included in your carry-on. Are you nuts?

Stop making the rest of us look bad, dum-dum.
