This is the first time that you’ve probably ever heard someone say the following sentence: This is the holster that I’ve been looking for my whole life.
Everyone that I talk to has one complaint about their holster: “It’s good, but it’s not perfect. I have a drawer full of holsters. Some are crap, some are good, and none are ‘the one’”. I’m here to tell you today that I found ‘the one’ for me.
If you hop around our site, you’ll see the name Alien Gear Holsters around quite a bit. Whether it’s an ad or a link, there is no secret that we have been partnering with them extensively.
With that said, I can assure you, on my family’s life, that the following review is truthful and genuine. The outcome of the text below was not written to make Alien Gear happy, it was written just as any of our other reviews have been written; honestly.
Design
The Cloak Tuck 2.0 is a vast improvement over their original Cloak Tuck design. The original was your standard hybrid leather/kydex IWB holster that has flooded the market with nearly every manufacturer. The 2.0 offers so much more.
The layout is very similar to your standard IWB holster mentioned above, except they use a neoprene composite in place of leather.
Our PATENT PENDING, ‘Cloak Tuck 2.0’ Neoprene Composite Holster is our most comfortable and stable holster yet. This inside the waistband (IWB) hybrid holster features a light weight design with a soft neoprene body-side layer that forms perfectly to your hip and provides more comfort than you’ve ever felt in a holster. The secret to its improved stability and sturdiness is the inner ABS polymer core. It readily flexes with your body, but won’t sag down with the weight of a handgun (even the heavy ones).
This new material is completely waterproof, so you’ll never have to worry about corrosive sweat reaching your pistol. It also includes a fully swappable handgun shell for versatility. This holster comes equipped either with our standard nylon clips, designed for 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 inch belts, or our steel clips that fit belts up to 1 3/4 inches. For enhanced conceal-ability nylon “C” clips and “J” clips are also available as add-on items.
Included:
Parts Pack (4 – 1/2″ screws, 4 – 3/8″ screws, 4 – 5/8″ screws, 4 – 1/2″ rubber spacers, 4 – 3/8″ rubber spacers, 4 – 5/8″ rubber spacers, 2 – T Nuts, 2 – Finish Washers, 1 – 3/32 Hex Key)
Included with each purchase is a really nice and handy bag of hardware so that you can customize your holster to get the best fit. We’ll get into what all of these do, but the short story is that it offers a very precise fit for each individual’s needs and requirements.
Features
This holster uses a Neoprene Composite backing that is extremely comfortable and sweat-proof. I couldn’t believe how comfortable it was the minute I first tried it on. Since it isn’t leather, this holster does not require any break-in time. That’s a huge plus for me because I was always annoyed with an uncomfortable holster for weeks while I waited for it to break in and mold to my body. This new light material is flexible, soft and comfortable. Did I mention that it’s comfortable?
As of this writing, I’ve been wearing this holster each day in 90+ degree heat.ย I was initially concerned that the area where my holster sits would get uncomfortably warm due to this material. However, it seems to breathe very well and actually keeps the area nice and cool.
A great little feature that is overlooked is the fact that they mold their kydex shells around the front of each firearm. The purpose of this is two-fold. First, it protects the front sight from any damage that could happen to it. Second, it eliminates those nasty holes in your pants next to your bum that your front sight tends to make (see photo here, #21). If you’ve carried for a while, this probably looks familiar to you. This holster aims to make this a problem of the past.
Comfortability
I’ve already said it a few times, but I’ll continue on with how comfortable it really is. If you’ve ever used a traditional leather/kydex holster, you can agree that they’re rather bulky (even the smallest ones). Yes they are comfortable once they’re broken in, but the Neoprene Composite really takes a lot of the bulk away and lightens the entire rig up quite a bit.
Concealability
Just as with many of these types of holsters, it offers the different options for ride height and cant of your firearm. This allows the user to get the perfect ride of their firearm to fit their needs. Each person is different when it comes to concealing their rig in an optimal way, so these adjustments go a long way with making things as they should be.
This holster is designed to be tuckable, so you can still dress nicely while you carry your firearm.
Retention
One of the best parts of any holster is the ability to adjust it’s retention. Some holsters don’t give you the option, and the ‘standard’ isn’t always the user’s favorite. With the Cloak Tuck 2.0, your hardware comes with different sizes of rubber tubes that will help you get the perfect amount of retention you desire. They allow for more or less space between the kydex and Neoprene Composite, and can be tightened or loosened with the provided screws that hold everything in place.
Durability of Nylon Clips
After this review went live, Alien Gear released the below video that shows just how durable their nylon clips are.

Price & Guarantee
$35.88 (Link To Product)
This is the amazing part and sadly, some people look the other way because they believe that the product may be inferior. I can tell you that these holsters are constructed with the best materials, and Alien Gear does not take any shortcuts when they manufacture them.
If you’re used to black steel clips (which I am), they offer them as an option at no extra cost.ย I personally prefer the steel clips over the nylon, but the nylon clips that were sent as well seem to be extremely durable. Even so, I’m partial to steel.
And their guarantee is amazing and unbeatable:
