3. I carry my S&W M&P Shield 9 because it fits my hands perfectly and I can easily conceal it. I am a smaller person so that was a big deciding factor. Additionally being an American made firearm was a requirement. I chose the 9mm variation because of the lack of recoil, and the rounds that I carry isn’t offered in 40 cal variation. I chose to not have a thumb safety because in my opinion when time counts I don’t want to have to remember to turn off the safety. In that moment of adrenaline and stress they less to think about the better I can focus on what is going on. I chose to carry my shield because the rest of my family carries their firearms in them. The comfortably, retention, and quality for exceeded my expectations. The manufacturer is also a local company.
