Nearby Security Guard Shoots Man Dead After Witnessing Him Stab Woman In Wheelchair

A security guard in New Orleans intervened in an unprovoked attack, shooting the attacker and saving a woman’s life. The incident occurred at the intersection of Elysian Fields Avenue and St. Claude Avenue.


NEW ORLEANS, LA (2-minute read) — A tragic incident unfolded on Sunday afternoon at the intersection of Elysian Fields Avenue and St. Claude Avenue in New Orleans. Around 3:58 p.m., the New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) responded to a call about an aggravated battery by cutting. Upon arrival, officers discovered a woman in a wheelchair suffering from multiple stab wounds and an unresponsive man lying on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound.

The emergency medical services (EMS) quickly transported the injured woman to a nearby hospital, while the man was pronounced dead at the scene. According to the NOPD, the deceased male had attacked the woman without provocation, repeatedly stabbing her. In a brave act of intervention, a security guard from a nearby business stepped in and shot the assailant once, stopping the attack.

The security guard was detained for questioning but has since been released. This case highlights the critical role of security personnel in ensuring public safety and responding effectively to violent incidents.

My neighbors a private security guard. He’s done federal work and recently worked undercover at the RNC.
But, I’ll tell you this, I shoot a hell of a lot better than him. Why? I go to the range, pistol and/or rifle at least once a week, every week.
He goes once in awhile, usually when he needs to qualify.
