1 Dead, 22 Injured After Shots Fired At Chiefs Victory Parade; Suspects In Custody

UPDATE @ 7:27PM EST — Police have updated the number of victims, which includes 1 dead and 22 injured. Of the injured, 11 are said to be children, 9 with gunshot wounds. The ages of the children range from 6 to 15 years old.

UPDATE @ 4:47PM EST — In a strange twist after the chief of police stated that she believed none of the victims were children, a local children’s hospital confirmed that it has 11 children in it’s care, 9 of which are suffering from gunshot wounds.

UPDATE @ 4:20PM EST — Police have apprehended another person after what seemed to be some type of stand-off on live TV, although all that was seen was police pointing guns in one direction. This person was said to be inside the parking garage. No other information was immediately available.

KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI — A shooting incident occurred near Union Station, where the Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl rally was concluding. The incident took place west of Union Station, close to West Pershing and Kessler roads. According to Kansas City Police Department officials, multiple individuals were shot.

Sources revealed to local media that the shooting resulted in at least eight people being injured, one of whom is in critical condition. Following the incident, two armed individuals were detained by the police for further investigation.

Video reportedly showing victims of the shooting being attended to was uploaded to Twitter/X, which is graphic in nature.

In response to the shooting, officers are conducting a thorough clearance of Union Station. Once this process is completed, individuals inside the building will be allowed to leave. Meanwhile, police are advising those who attended the Super Bowl parade to vacate the vicinity, particularly steering clear of the Union Station parking garage.
