Woman Uses Handgun To Successfully Defend Herself Against Home Invader

GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO — In the early hours on Sunday, in Fruita’s 400 block of Pisces Circle, homeowner Melanie Logan successfully defended herself against an intruder. The male intruder managed to enter her residence, but Logan, armed with a handgun, confronted him, causing him to flee the scene. Fortunately, there were no injuries or damage to the property.

In the wake of this incident, the Fruita Police Department emphasized the importance of safety measures for residents. Lieutenant Nick Peck of the department advised the public to ensure all doors to their houses and vehicles are securely locked. He highlighted the utility of security cameras in providing valuable information. Peck strongly urged the community to promptly report any suspicious activities or noises by calling 911, without delay.

The police are currently searching for the suspect who escaped from Logan’s house.
