Multiple People Shot Inside Ocala Mall, Suspect On The Loose

UPDATE AT 6:40PM EST: Police say a targeted shooting incident resulted in one fatality and several injuries on Saturday afternoon. At approximately 3:40 p.m., police responded to reports of gunfire. While initially feared as an active shooter event, authorities clarified it was a targeted attack. A man succumbed to gunshot wounds in the mall’s common area, while a woman injured in the leg is recovering. Additional injuries involved a broken arm and chest pain. The suspected shooter, described as a Black male wearing a black hoodie, pants, and partially masked, fled the scene. Police are currently conducting a search for the individual.

OCALA, FLORIDA — Police report that multiple people were injured in a shooting at Paddock Mall in Ocala, Florida. A suspect in the shooting is said to have fled the scene .

The mall is currently being evacuated.
