Thanksgiving Day Intruder Shot In The Head By Armed Resident

PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA — On Thanksgiving evening, an intruder in his 20s was fatally shot by a resident after breaking into an apartment in Philadelphia. The incident occurred around 7:20 p.m. in the Overbrook neighborhood, specifically at The Premier at City Line on the 6100 block of City Avenue.

The assailant sustained a gunshot wound to the head and was declared dead at the scene. Police recovered two firearms from the location.

Following the event, residents returning from their holiday celebrations were surprised to find the building’s front door ajar. One resident, Keenan Walker, expressed shock and fear upon learning that the intrusion had reached someone’s private apartment.

There is currently no clarity on whether the homeowner who shot the intruder will face any charges.
