[BREAKING] PA Mom Shaneen Allen, Arrested For Bringing Firearm Over State Lines, Avoids Jail Time

The Pennsylvania mother who was arrested for having her pistol on her while crossing over to NJ is going to avoid jail time.

After a review by the state attorney general, the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office announced Wednesday that it would allow a Philadelphia woman charged last year with illegally bringing into New Jersey a gun that was legally registered in Pennsylvania to enter a pretrial-intervention program and avoid jail time.

The prosecutor’s initial intentions were to make an example out of Allen. However upon further review, he “determined that the defendant in this case should be offered the opportunity to be admitted into the Atlantic County PTI program,” and that within the next few weeks, his office would review similar pending cases.

We are happy to hear that Allen is going to be avoiding jail time, but are still upset that she was arrested for this victim-less crime to begin with.
