Teen Arrested After Veteran Shot, Killed While Shopping At Shopping Plaza

ORLANDO, FLORIDA — On Friday, a young male, age 15, was taken into custody in connection with the shooting death of a U.S. military veteran that occurred in February.

According to the authorities in Orlando, 61-year-old Angela Sutton Washington, a decorated U.S. military veteran, tragically lost her life during a shopping trip in a plaza on North Lane on the 7th of February.

The vehicle suspected of involvement was seen leaving the crime scene immediately after the incident, police reports noted.

Working tirelessly in collaboration with local community members and the Central Florida Crimeline, homicide investigators from the Orlando police department managed to track down the alleged perpetrator, a juvenile of 15 years.

The teenager is now facing serious charges, specifically first-degree murder committed using a firearm.
