Man Shot And Killed During House Party In San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS — Authorities in San Antonio are working to unravel the events leading up to a fatal shooting at a house party on the West Side early Saturday.

Upon receiving a shooting alert close to midnight, officers discovered a 41-year-old male, suffering from numerous gunshot wounds in his torso. The individual was later identified by the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office as Mauricio Puente.

According to police reports, both Puente and the alleged shooter, a 23-year-old male, were present outside a residence on the 7100 block of Shady Grove Drive.

San Antonio Police Department (SAPD) reported that the two men became embroiled in a dispute at the gathering. The younger man reportedly displayed a firearm and shot Puente multiple times.

Authorities apprehended the accused party for further questioning, and confirmed they found a firearm at the scene.

As of now, it remains uncertain if the suspect will face legal repercussions.
