LONG BEACH, CALIFORNIA — A homeowner in Long Beach fatally shot a woman, Andrea Powell, aged 44, reportedly attacking a neighbor. Police suggest Powell, who was not a local resident, was attempting to enter houses on Roycroft Avenue while causing disturbances.

A local man claimed Powell assaulted him when he tried to intervene in an attack she was staging on a neighbor. An eyewitness video also highlighted Powell’s violent actions. Security footage revealed Powell’s presence at various residences, in one instance wielding a large stick.

The police were reportedly alerted two hours before the incident. Following the shooting, the homeowner was questioned but released, with the decision on potential charges resting with Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón.

This incident follows a trend of escalating violence in the area, exemplified by a recent event involving a homeless man shot by police for attacking multiple people at a park.
