2 Dead, 2 Injured In Shooting At Festival Campgrounds In Washington

UPDATE @ 10:34AM EST: Police say that 2 people were killed and 3 injured, although the injured seems to include the suspect. It is unclear if the suspect was targeting staff, as previously reported. Other sources say the suspect was firing into crowds of people.

Police scanner also indicated the gunman was seen being dropped off by a vehicle prior to the shooting.

UPDATE: Alleged Gunman in Washington State’s Gorge Amphitheatre Taken into Custody. The incident occurred at the Campgrounds related to the ongoing festival.

GRANT COUNTY, WASHINGTON — Authorities have confirmed that the suspected shooter at the Gorge Amphitheatre, Washington, is now in custody. The sheriff’s office has revealed there might be multiple victims, however, the exact figures remain uncertain.

The Gorge Amphitheatre, currently hosting the Beyond Wonderland festival, was the scene of an alarming active shooter situation tonight. The full details of the incident are yet to be disclosed.

Law enforcement agencies were alerted around 8:45 p.m. this Saturday to an “active shooter” situation at this open-air music venue, located near Quincy in Grant County. The venue is approximately 113 miles southeast of Seattle.

“Active shooter at Gorge Amphitheater. If at the Gorge, seek cover,” the Grant County Sheriff’s Office said in an alert. “Run hide or fight the suspect if you encounter him.”

No immediate information has been shared regarding potential injuries. Authorities are rigorously collecting additional details. A significant response from emergency services is underway as law enforcement officials continue to secure the site.

The Beyond Wonderland festival, occurring when the incident happened, comprises three days of camping, two full days of electronic dance music, immersive art installations, performers in costume, and more.
