Homeowner Shoots 1 of 2 Attackers During Failed Attempt On Their Part

Published

HOUSTON, TX — When two thugs tried to pull off a brazen attack at the home of a responsibly-armed citizen, it was really painful.

For them, I mean.

One was sent packing, and the other was not, because he was busy being shot.

As Click2Houston reports:

One man is in the hospital with a gunshot wound and an accomplice is at large after they engaged in gunfire with a homeowner Friday night, police say.

The incident happened about 9:30 p.m. at a home on Jensen Drive and Vance Street in north Houston. According to police, two men walked up to the home with shotguns in hand and approached the homeowner and another man on the porch.

The two armed men allegedly started shooting at the men on the porch. Police say the homeowner shot back, hitting one of them. The other attacker fled, police say.

The man who was shot was taken to the hospital in serious-but-stable condition, according to police.

Now, this story stinks.

By that, I mean that it sure looks like there’s more here than meets the eye.

The world may be falling to hell in a hand-basket in some parts, but two dudes with shotguns approaching a random pair of men and cutting loose is still extremely unlikely.

The report above does not disclose whether or not the homeowner knew these men or not, but I’d be willing to posit that there’s a strong chance.

It certainly could have been some sort of walk-up robbery — but in a case as brazen as this, there’s really no telling until details get out, and there’s no clear-cut picture as to what went down.

Regardless, I think we can all be glad that the attackers lost out, big time.
