Florida Woman Shoots, Kills Husband… Ruled Self-Defense

Published

WASHINGTON COUNTY, FLORIDA — A Washington County woman who fatally shot her husband in January will not face charges, as the incident has been deemed a justifiable use of force.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office announced the decision on Facebook, noting that the shooting occurred at a residence near Crystal Lake on Tiger Trail around 3 a.m. on January 3, according to WMBB.

The woman fully cooperated with investigators, and the Sheriff’s Office worked closely with the state’s attorney’s office and the medical examiner’s office to review the case’s circumstances and evidence.

The couple’s names and further details about the domestic incident were not disclosed.
