LAS VEGAS, NEVADA — A potentially dangerous situation unfolded at the Fashion Show Mall on the Las Vegas Strip when a man allegedly brandishing a knife was apprehended by mall security officers, assisted by an armed bystander, according to KLAS.

The suspect, 22-year-old Letrelle Calhoun, now faces multiple assault charges involving a deadly weapon.

On March 23, Las Vegas Metro Police were called to the scene after Calhoun reportedly threatened store employees with a knife.

Security officers subsequently located Calhoun, who was allegedly waving a large butcher knife, and detained him until police arrived.

Authorities have stated that during the incident, Calhoun threatened the lives of security officers and lunged at three of them with the weapon.

An armed bystander reportedly intervened during the situation, helping to bring it under control.
